Supporting Your Students and Families

Every student has unique challenges. Gain insight and learn how to approach these challenges with the following resources.

Financial Aid

Whether your students’ hearts are set on their dream schools or they are trying to weigh their financial aid options, explore these resources to help connect students to various financial aid opportunities.

Supporting Special Student Populations

It is important to advocate for quality college and career readiness resources for students with disabilities. The Oklahoma Department of Career Technology offers a wealth of resources for ensuring seamless career training transitions for all students, to learn about resources for your students visit their website here.

Connecting ICAP to Hope

Hope is a psychological strength that can be learned and promotes well-being. Therefore, ICAP represents a set of individual career and academic strategies that educators can use to promote student success. To be more concise, the data from this study show that ICAP is a pathway of hope for students.

In the Fall of 2020, the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Hope Research Center of the University of Oklahoma engaged in a partnership to investigate the effect to which ICAP participation is associated with student hope. View a copy of the report here.

Other Supports

The Oklahoma State Department of Education Office of Student Support provides a holistic approach to supporting educators and families through comprehensive school counseling, academic guidance, alternative education strategies, behavioral learning resources, and school-based mental health. We strive to increase equitable access to resources that promote the academic, social, and mental well-being of all students. We resource our schools. We serve our families. We support our students.

Oklahoma Edge is the Oklahoma State Department of Education's commitment to ensuring all students have the opportunity and support to successfully secure a postsecondary degree or industry certification that reflects each individual’s passions and skills.
